Biblioteca de imágenes de Python

La biblioteca de imágenes de Python (PIL) añade un objeto imagen al intérprete de Python. Permite cargar imágenes en varios formatos y realizar una gran cantidad de operaciones sobre ellas.

Objetos imagen:

 o Binivel, escala de grises, paleta, color verdadero (RGB), color

verdadero con transparencia (RGBA).

 o Separación de colores (CMYK).
 o Operaciones copiar, cortar y pegar.
 o Voltear, transponer, redimensionar, rotar y transformaciones arbitrarias

afines.

 o Operaciones con transparencia.
 o Operaciones con canales y puntos.
 o Transformaciones de color, incluyendo operaciones de matrices.
 o Mejora de la imagen, incluyendo filtros de convolución.

Formatos de archivos:

 o Completo (Leer/Cargar/Guardar): BMP, EPS (con ghostscript), GIF, IM,
   JPEG, MSP, PDF, PNG, PPM, TIFF, XBM.
 o Sólo lectura (Leer/Cargar): ARG, CUR, DCX, FLI, FPX, GBR, GD, ICO, IMT,
   IPTC, MCIDAS, MPEG, PhotoCD, PCX, PIXAR, PSD, TGA, SGI, SUN, TGA, WMF,
   XPM.
 o Sólo guardar: PDF, EPS (sin ghostscript)
