Minimale, simple Terminal-Emulation

picocom wurde als einfaches, manuelles Modem-Konfigurations-/Test- und Fehlersuchwerkzeug entwickelt. Es kann ebenfalls (und zwar sehr gut) als simples Terminal-Fenster benutzt werden, welches Benutzereingriffe in PPP-Verbindungsscripten erlaubt (ähnlich der MS-Windows- »Öffne Terminal-Fenster vor / nach Einwahl« - Funktion). Auch in anderen, ähnlichen Fällen könnte es sich als nützlich erweisen. Aufgrund seines minimalen Speicherbedarfs ist es ideal für Embedded-Systeme.
