Program xlhtml vezme jako vstup soubor Excelu 95 nebo 97 a převede ho do formátu vysoce optimalizovaného HTML. Výstup je skrz standardní výstup, takže je možno soubory přesměrovat nebo přidat do dalších filtrů, případně je použít jako brány na Internetu.
