Dynamická dvojice CDDB.py a DiscID.py spolu s modulem cdrommodule.so umožňuje programům napsaným v Pythonu získávat informace o zvukových CD z CDDB (http://www.cddb.com/) -- velmi rozsáhlé databáze CD obsahující databáze seznamů stop a dalších informací. Výchozí CDDB server je FreeDB (http://www.freedb.org).
