   * Add HOSTNAME to the list of predefined variable usable in the tripwire
     policy file so the same policy can be used unchanged on multiple
     machines.  This also means the the '-D' option is no longer supported.
   * Work around a gcc bug that causes tripwire to go into an infinite loop
