2001

smtp-refuser (1.0.4) unstable; urgency=low

   * added a note to smtp-userconfig explaining that you must
     also set up your hosts.allow file.
   * brought up to debian standards 3.5.6
     - Build-Depends
     - DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS
   * expanded package description to clarify that non-blocked mail
     is handled normally.
   * removed old dependency on netbase.
   * updated maintainer email address to be consistent with the
     other packages I maintain.

1999

smtp-refuser (1.0.3) unstable; urgency=low

   * New maintainer.
   * Updated the copyright file to explain that there's no upstream
     source -- Closes: bug#44739.
   * At original author's request, changed installation to NOT
     install the sample /etc/hosts.allow rules, because they are
     quite outdated and are blocking some legitimate sites.
   * Moved those sample rules to the examples documentation subdirectory,
     and updated relevant documentation accordingly; added some explanation
     to the top of that sample file.
   * Warn administrator at postinst and postrm if there are old smtp-refuser
     rules in the hosts.allow file; suggest they be manually removed or
     corrected.
   * Fixed an old postinst bug on first install.
   * added Suggests: tcpd
   * Minor changes for FHS and Debian policy 3.0.1
   * (in case you care, 1.0.2 was my earlier test of the same changes).

smtp-refuser (1.0.1) stable unstable; urgency=high

   * Disabled logging of received commands to /tmp/log. (This allowed
     deleting arbitrary, root-owned files by any user who has write
     access to /tmp.)

   * Package is orphaned; changed maintainer to `Debian QA Group'.
   * Wrote manual pages for smtp-refuser(8) and smtp-refuserconfig(8).
     Closes: Bug#18391.
   * Changed debian/postrm and smtp-refuserconfig to use tempfile(1).
   * There's no point in including an empty smtp-refuser.conf in the
     package.  Removed debian/conffiles.  Appropriately changed
     debian/postrm and debian/rules.
   * Removed obsolete dh_du from debian/rules.
   * Added `set -e' to debian/postinst and debian/postrm.
   * Conforms to standards version 2.5.0.0.
   * Changed `mail-refuser' in the greeting message to `smtp-refuser'.
   * Corrected a typo in debian/control.
   * Added newlines to debian/README.debian.
   * Converted some tabs to spaces and vice-versa in smtp-refuser.c
     (some parts assumed 8-space tabs, and some 4-space tabs).
