Debian Changelog belocs-locales-data (2.4-6)

2008

belocs-locales-data (2.4-6) unstable; urgency=low

   * QA upload.
     + Change maintainer to QA group.
   * Move homepage from description to dedicated field.
   * Remove preinst since I think it isn't really worth to try
     to fix the code to not use /var/lib/dpkg/status and it is
     only needed for upgrades from oldstable.

belocs-locales-data (2.3.4-28) unstable; urgency=low

   * New patches:
     + bts345481_fix_Swiss_thousand_sep.diff
       Fix thousand separator for de_CH, and let other Swiss locales copy
       de_CH for LC_NUMERIC and LC_MONETARY sections.

       Set AM/PM for cy_GB and en_GB locales.

       for the report.  (Closes: #352352)

   * Add an "All locales" option to the belocs-locales-data/locales_to_be_generated
     template. When it is selected, /etc/locale.gen is a symlink to
     /usr/share/i18n/SUPPORTED.

   * Update debian/po/fr.po.

 -- Denis Barbier <barbier@debian.org>  Thu, 16 Feb 2006 16:21:57 +0100

belocs-locales-data (2.3.4-27) unstable; urgency=low

   * Install locale.alias into /usr/share/locale/locale.alias instead of
     /etc/locale.alias to follow changes in the locales package. This
     file is deprecated and should not be used.
     Add a preinst file to remove this file if it has not been modified.

   * Update to CVS 2006-01-08:
     * locales/fi_FI: Fix date_fmt.
     * locales/mn_MN: Likewise.

   * New patches:
     + fedora-locales-supported.diff
       debian-locales-supported.diff is no more applied in the locales
       package, so bts274491_disable_UTF-8@euro_locales.diff can be
       dropped too. The result of merging these two patches is
       renamed into fedora-locales-supported.diff because it corresponds
       to the changes applied on localedata/SUPPORTED in glibc-fedora.patch.
     + bts347173_fix_ro_RO.diff
       Fix ro_RO collation and day names. Patch by Eddy Petrisor

   * Removed patches:
     + bz297_fix_date_fmt_fi_FI.diff
     + fix_mn_MN.diff
       These patches are now included in CVS upstream.
     + bts274491_disable_UTF-8@euro_locales.diff
     + debian-locales-supported.diff
       Both patches are superseded by fedora-locales-supported.diff
     + prepare-debian-locale-no_NO.diff
       This patch is dropped because locale.alias is no more patched.
     + keep_sr_YU.diff
       Transition is over.
     + bz968_workaround_strxfrm_breakage.diff
       This patch can be removed now that #310635 has been fixed in glibc.

   * Modified patches:
     + debian-locale-no_NO.diff
       Do no more patch locale.alias
     + fix_te_IN.diff
       Revert the change previously applied against noexpr, it was bogus.
       This patch now only fixes warnings when compiling this locale.
     + full_French_locales.diff
     + bts248377_fix_thousands_sep_fr_FR.diff
       As explained in #351786 it seems that C++ assumes that thousands_sep
       (and surely also decimal_point) are represented by a single byte when
       dealing with narrow streams. This is very unfortunate and until a
       better solution is found, <U00A0> are reverted back to <U0020>.
     + new_Catalan_locales.diff
       Replace these locales by those sent upstream by Robert Millan. There
       is no content change, but @euro suffix has been rightfully dropped.

   * Grab changes in debconf templates and debian/po/*.po files from the
     glibc package.

belocs-locales-data (2.3.4-26) unstable; urgency=low

   * New patches:
     + fix_byn_ER_U131F.diff
       Daniel Yacob sent a patch to the libc-locales mailing-list, to
       update the byn_ER locale so that the 6th month name is spelled
       properly. The correct spelling was not possible prior to the
       definition of the required character (U+131F) in Unicode 4.1.
     + update_UTF-8_unicode_4.1.diff
       Update charmaps/UTF-8 to Unicode 4.1. The unicode/ directory
       in the source package explains how to perform such updates.

   * Modified patch:
     + optimize_charsets.diff
       Update after applying update_UTF-8_unicode_4.1.diff

   * New patches:
     + fix_et_EE_encoding.diff
       As explained by Martin-Éric Racine <q-funk at iki fi> at Debconf5,
       Estonian can not be written in ISO-8859-1 encoding. Indeed the
       initial et_EE locale file clearly states that s-caron is a letter
       of the Estonian alphabet.
       Upstream GNU libc developers refused to fix its encoding, but as
       no Estonian speaking people uses et_EE locale, there is no
       compatibility problem. The et_EE.ISO-8859-15 locale is not
       dropped yet, to keep compatibility with the locales package.

belocs-locales-data (2.3.4-14) unstable; urgency=low

   * New patch:
     + bz968_workaround_strxfrm_breakage.diff
       As explained in BZ968, strxfrm can segfault with backward rules
       in LC_COLLATE section of locale data files.
       This does not happen with GNU libc localedef because this version
       does not respect rule definitions, but the fixed version from
       belocs-locales-bin triggers this bug.
       In order to prevent those segfaults, all backward directives are
       replaced by forward in iso14651_t1 and lv_LV until GNU libc is
       fixed.
       Many thanks to Eugeniy Meshcheryakov who discovered this misbehavior
       and spent hours to help me debugging this issue. Closes: #310588

       that these locales need ISO-8859-15 and not ISO-8859-1, this
       information was lacking in original Bugzilla reports.

belocs-locales-data (2.3.4-2) unstable; urgency=low

   * Updated to CVS 2005/03/03, the only visible changes are the addition
     of po/ru.po and changes in po/tr.po
   * Get Polish translation of debconf templates by Emilian Nowak
     sent to the locales package (bts #294444).
   * Fix po/es.po, this file was not the latest one found in CVS.
   * New patches:
     + bts295810_update_tl_PH.diff
       Set yesexpr/noexpr/yesstr/nostr fields. Patch by eric pareja
       <xenos at upm edu ph>
     + fix_om_ET.diff
       om_ET has two copy in its LC_COLLATE definition. This should not
       happen, but works with vanilla localedef because the first copy
       is handled in a special way. Unfortunately this special way had
       been disabled for belocs-locales-bin in order to prevent problems
       with cache. So om_ET needs to be patched in order to compile with
       localedef from belocs-locales-bin.
   * Modified patch:
     + bz38_new_Serbian_locales.diff
       Get latest patch from Bugzilla.
     + bts233308_new_eo_XX.diff
       Rename eo_XX.ISO-8859-3 into eo_XX, ISO-8859-3 seems to be the
       preferred choice.
   * Removed patch:
     + bz549_new_CSD_currency.diff
       This patch is now included in bz38_new_Serbian_locales.diff

belocs-locales-data (2.3.4-1) unstable; urgency=low

   * Upgrade to GNU libc 2.3.4.
     There is no upstream change since all previous CVS commits had been
     included, the only difference stands in the revision number.
   * Add new MANIFEST.belocs-locales-data and README.belocs-locales-data
     files to the original tarball to better explain how it is built.
   * Add the po/ directory so that this package ships compiled libc.mo
     files, which are currently provided by the locales package.
     Update description in debian/control accordingly.
   * New patches:
     + new_dz_BT.diff
       Add new dz_BT locale (Dzongkha language for Buthan). This locale
       was sent to BZ368, but collation rules have been rewritten by
       Denis Barbier.
     + bz297_fix_date_fmt_fi_FI.diff
       Fix date_fmt, patch provided by Lauri Nurmi <lanurmi at iki fi>.
     + bz657_update_bn_BD.diff
       Updated version by Jamil Ahmed <jamil at bengalinux org>.

     + bz667_update_wa_BE.diff
       Fix weekday names to match new orthographic rules.
       Patch provided by Pablo Saratxaga.
     + bz668_update_yi_US.diff

     + bz664_rewrite_es_ES_collate.diff
       In es_ES, rewrite collation rules to include iso14651_t1.
       Patch by Pablo Saratxaga.
     + bz672_include_iso14651_t1_LC_COLLATE.diff
       Likewise for da_DK, en_CA, es_US, fi_FI and nb_NO.
       Patch by Denis Barbier.
     + include_iso14651_t1_others.diff
       Likewise for cs_CZ, et_EE, hr_HR, lt_LT, pl_PL and sl_SI.
       These locales need toggles in iso14651_t1 file, so this file
       is modified and belocs-locales-data has to depend on a recent
       belocs-locales-bin.
   * Eventually swap dependency between belocs-locales-bin and
     belocs-locales-data, since the latter do not work any more with
     plain localedef. Now belocs-locales-data depends on
     belocs-locales-bin (>= 2.3.3-13).
   * Remove debian/TODO

   * Add comments to patches.
   * New patches:
     + bz82_fix_bn_BD
       Several fixes in the LC_MESSAGES section of bn_BD.
       Patch by Jamil Ahmed and Petter Reinholdtsen.
     + bz352_Russian_thousands_sep.diff
       Set thousand_sep and mon_thousand_set to non-breaking space based on
       input from Paul Pogonyshev and Sergei Ivanov.
       Patch by Petter Reinholdtsen.
     + bz367_new_si_LK
       New si_LK locale (Sinhala language for Sri Lanka), made by
       Anuradha Ratnaweera.
     + bts233308_new_eo_XX
       New eo_XX locale (Esperanto language), made by Edmund GRIMLEY EVANS.
       Encoding for eo_XX used to be ISO-8859-3, but UTF-8 is preferred
       nowadays. As encoding of locales should never change in order to
       prevent compatibility problems, eo_XX has not been defined,
       eo_XX.ISO-8859-3 and eo_XX.UTF-8 must be used instead.
       Aliases for eo_EO.ISO-8859-3 and eo_EO.UTF-8 are provided.

       Add ru_RU.CP1251 to SUPPORTED.
   * Rename bz187_turkish_LC_NUMERIC.diff into bz187_Turkish_LC_NUMERIC.diff
   * Add locale/iso-{639,3166,4217}.def files and install them into

     shipped in belocs-locales-bin.
   * Put back Yugoslavia in locale/iso-3166.def in order to allow generation
     of sr_YU on systems which cannot generate sr_CS.
   * Copy prerm/postrm from the locales package to handle removal of
     /etc/locale.gen and /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive.

       In order to provide a transition from nb_NO to no_NO, both must be
       available for some time. Some programs (like gettext) do not work
       with aliases, so declare no_NO as a real locale.
       Patch by Petter Reinholdtsen, with minor changes for belocs-locales-data.
     + debian-locale-ru_RU
       Change default charset for 'russian' in locale.alias from ISO-8859-5
